Mergers and Acquisitions Assistant Manager in Birmingham

An ambitious and growing Corporate Finance advisory firm is seeking an Assistant Manager to join its Birmingham team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven corporate finance professional looking to gain exposure to a broad range of mid-market M&A transactions while progressing their career within a highly entrepreneurial environment.

Working directly with experienced Partners and Directors, you will play a key role in delivering lead advisory mandates across a diverse client base, including owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs, private equity-backed companies, and corporate clients.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions.
• Preparing information memoranda, financial analyses, valuations, and marketing materials.
• Conducting market research and identifying potential acquirers and targets.
• Managing due diligence processes and coordinating with legal, tax, and other advisors.
• Building and maintaining financial models.
• Assisting in the preparation of client presentations and pitch materials.
• Developing relationships with clients, introducers, and other stakeholders.
• Supporting business development activities and networking initiatives.
• Coaching and mentoring junior team members where appropriate.

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• Experience gained within Corporate Finance, M&A, Transaction Services, Lead Advisory, Audit, or a related advisory environment.
• Strong financial analysis and modelling capabilities.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
