A leading advisory firm is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to join its growing Debt Advisory team, supporting SME and owner-managed businesses. This is a highly commercial role suited to individuals who enjoy originating and converting new business opportunities, while also delivering end-to-end advisory support to clients. You will play a central role in driving revenue growth, combining internal referral generation with proactive external business development. Working closely with regional teams and professional introducers, you will build a strong pipeline of SME clients requiring funding solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through external relationships (circa 50%) including accountants, lawyers, and your own network.
  • Build and maintain a strong introducer network in the SME/OMB market.
  • Assess client funding requirements and identify appropriate financing solutions.
  • Prepare and present high-quality information packs for lenders.
  • Manage lender discussions, negotiations, and credit processes.
  • Oversee transactions through to completion, ensuring a smooth client journey.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, supporting clients beyond the initial transaction.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in business development or relationship management within banking, professional services, or asset-based lending.
  • Experience working with SME/owner-managed businesses.
