Central Bristol. A varied client portfolio. A team that's growing. And an independent firm that genuinely invests in the people who work there.

Our client is one of the larger independent chartered accountancy practices in the region, and their Bristol audit team is expanding. They're looking for a fully qualified Audit Senior to take ownership of audit engagements across a diverse range of industries, contribute to the development of a close-knit team, and build the kind of broad, rounded experience that an independent practice is uniquely positioned to offer.

The Bristol office is centrally located with excellent transport links, making it straightforward to get to wherever you're coming from.

What you'll be doing

  • Taking control of audit planning and fieldwork across a portfolio of clients, with exposure to the full audit process from start to finish
  • Reviewing team members' work to ensure audit objectives have been met and standards are upheld
  • Delivering high-quality, fully compliant financial statements across a varied client base
  • Drawing on your knowledge of individual clients to anticipate complex or unusual issues and address them proactively
  • Supporting the management, motivation, mentoring, and day-to-day development of the wider audit team

What we're looking for

  • Fully qualified ACA or ACCA
  • Solid experience working within an audit team in a UK accountancy practice
  • Strong project management skills, including analytical ability, sound decision-making, effective time management, and a well-organised approach
  • Well-developed supervisory skills, including the ability to coach and motivate audit assistants

Nice to have

  • Experience managing a client portfolio independently
  • Exposure to multi-sector or multi-industry audit work within a practice environment

Our client offers a comprehensive benefits package and a working environment designed to support your professional growth and personal wellbeing:

  • Direct application bonus for candidates who apply directly
  • Parking contributions
  • 25 days annual leave, with the option to purchase additional days up to a total of 30
  • Paid flexi-time
  • Clear progression structure to support your long-term career development
  • Life assurance at four times your annual salary
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
  • Health and wellbeing benefits, including discounted gym membership, on-site mental health first aiders, online GP appointments, an Employee Assistance Programme, access to Aviva Digicare+, and more
  • Regular social events, both team-based and across the wider firm
