The Audit Quality team plays a central role in maintaining and enhancing audit quality across the firm, ensuring compliance with UK auditing and accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and the firm's System of Quality Management (SOQM).
In this role, you will support partners and engagement teams on audit quality matters, carry out audit quality reviews (both hot and cold), respond to technical queries, and contribute to audit quality initiatives, guidance, and training. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and play a key role in shaping best practice across the audit practice.
Key Responsibilities- Audit Quality Reviews
- Perform in‑flight, cold file, thematic, and follow‑up reviews of audit engagements
- Prepare and present reports on review findings to senior stakeholders and governance committees
- Identify areas for improvement in audit methodology and training, supporting delivery of remedial actions
- Contribute to firm‑wide audit quality projects and initiatives
- Review existing working practices and recommend improvements
- Respond to audit quality queries from engagement teams, partners, regulators, and the wider firm
- Support the development and delivery of audit quality guidance, materials, and training
- Review audit reports (including for public interest entities) to ensure compliance with auditing standards, legislation, and regulatory requirements
- Review proposed modified audit opinions prior to issuance
- Share best practice with audit teams to enhance audit quality and reduce risk
- Perform monitoring activities linked to the firm's SOQM
- Report findings to the Technical & Compliance leadership and support remediation activity
- Liaise with internal audit quality teams and external bodies
- Attend relevant audit quality, regulatory, and professional meetings and events
About You
- ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, with strong post‑qualification experience
- Strong working knowledge of UK audit and accounting requirements, including:
- FRC Ethical Standard
- UK GAAP and IFRS
