Job Description
NEWLY created Senior Commercial Pricing Manager position is now available at leading UK HQ law firm.As the Senior Commercial Pricing Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Pricing alongside Partners, Business Development, the client solutions and technology teams to shape and deliver unique pricing proposals that optimise value for the Firm and its clients. This involves leading and supporting on commercial and pricing elements for new opportunities, including supporting with price negotiations and developing innovative pricing frameworks which respond to current developments in the legal sector.You will also support the Head of Pricing with development and implementation of pricing strategies which respond to their client's needs whilst delivering an appropriate level of return for the firm.The firm are open to non-law firm profiles and would particularly keen on those form the Big 4, Consulting or broader professional services space. The key focus is someone with strong pricing experience, who is commercially astute, with experience in a client facing role. Key Responsibilities:
- Pricing models: expert knowledge of different pricing models for legal services and professional and technology solutions. This includes ability to create, shape and implement outcomes-based pricing options, pricing for software and technology solutions and hybrid solutions.
- Leading on pricing for large complex opportunities including direct client negotiations: validating the business case, financial viability assessments, developing pricing options. Ability to pro-actively discuss and manage commercial and delivery risks, through commercial negotiations during pitches / bid opportunity phase.
- Supporting Partners with commercial and pricing responses to new client pitches and proposals: including value articulation and describing financial benefits of the proposal for the client. International experience on deals spanning multiple countries is a feature of this role.
- Analysing emerging market trends, competitors, and client value propositions to support informed pricing decisions.
- Client deep dive analysis: ability to interpret financial data and support re-pricing of client framework agreements and large complex transactions
- Develop Pricing Strategies: Supporting the Head of Pricing create and implement pricing strategies that align with the firm's financial goals and our clients' expectations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business development and marketing, and finance teams to ensure pricing strategies are effectively communicated and implemented.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse the performance of pricing models and value-based agreements, to ensure pricing and profitability goals and targets are met.
Experience needed:
- Professional services background is essential
- Minimum of 7-10 years' experience pricing big ticket deals, including exposure to international deals that span multiple countries.
- At least two years' experience in a client-facing role, supporting Partners with client pricing and negotiations.
- Strong commercial acumen and track record in pricing and negotiating new opportunities
- Ability to influence and articulate pricing and value with senior stakeholders internally and externally
- Proficiency in financial modelling and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
