The Opportunity
As an Audit Senior, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit work while developing strong client relationships. The role goes beyond delivery, giving you the opportunity to:
- Gain a deep understanding of clients' businesses and risk environments
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across a range of engagements
- Support and develop junior team members
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare audit and accounts assignments to agreed deadlines
- Report directly to Directors or Partners, or Senior Managers on larger or more complex engagements
- Liaise with senior stakeholders to plan assignments, including client scheduling and staffing
- Supervise and support junior team members, providing guidance and on-the-job coaching
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure compliance work is completed efficiently
- Collate and summarise project data into first-draft reports, projections and briefing notes
About You
- Studying towards ACA or ACCA (advanced stage)
- Previous experience in external audit within practice
- Basic understanding of tax computations (desirable but not essential)
- Confident user of accounting and audit software, including: Sage, Excel, Word, CaseWare (desirable)
- Some experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
- Up-to-date technical knowledge of accounting standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
- Client-focused with good commercial awareness
- Right to work as sponsorship cannot be provided
