Our client is a well-established, independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Loughton, Essex. With over 75 years of history and a team of ten partners, they have built a strong reputation for delivering trusted, high-quality accountancy services to a diverse client base, including owner-managed businesses and UK subsidiaries of international groups.
They are looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to join , due to growth, taking ownership of a varied client portfolio while leading and developing a team of professionals.
This position will be onsite full time initially, with the possibility to work from home one day a week following probation.
What you'll be doing
- Managing the full lifecycle of client assignments, from planning and budgeting through to completion.
- Liaising with clients to understand their needs and tailoring each assignment accordingly.
- Delegating and reviewing team work to ensure consistently high standards and timely delivery.
- Leading team performance and development, including appraisals and regular feedback.
What we're looking for
- ACA or ACCA qualified with strong technical competence.
- Proven experience managing a client portfolio within a mid-tier practice.
- Solid knowledge of statutory accounts, management accounts, and UK GAAP.
- Experience managing and developing a team.
- Strong VAT knowledge and excellent communication skills.
- IT literate; experience with Xero, CaseWare, Sage, or CCH is an advantage.
