Ambition is delighted to be partnering with a well-established international law firm in its search for a Billing Manager to lead the Billing team in London, with operational oversight of two additional international offices. What you'll be doing Act as the primary escalation point for Partners, ensuring complex billing matters are resolved promptly and commercial objectives are achieved. Become trusted relationships with Partners, clients, and business leaders to understand billing expectations and optimise invoicing processes. Take overall responsibility for Work in Progress (WIP) management, partnering with Revenue Controllers to maximise billing performance and cash collection. Analyse and communicate financial performance through regular reporting on WIP, billing trends, KPIs, and target achievement. Direct the end-to-end billing lifecycle across a diverse portfolio of billing arrangements, including e-Billing, e-Invoicing, international, multi-payor, and composite billing. Collaborate with business units to ensure client and matter records are structured correctly, reflecting billing protocols, rate arrangements, budgets, tax requirements, and outside counsel guidelines. Work in partnership with the Director of Financial Operations and international office leadership to deliver a consistent and seamless billing experience across all jurisdictions. Lead, mentor, and develop the billing team, ensuring appropriate resourcing, talent development, succession planning, and performance standards. Facilitate finance forums, Partner briefings, and training sessions to drive adoption of billing best practices and improve commercial awareness across the firm. Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and standardise billing processes, working closely with global finance teams to enhance operational effectiveness. Maintain comprehensive process documentation and ensure all billing activities withstand internal and external audit scrutiny. Ensure strict adherence to financial controls, regulatory requirements, firm policies, and governance standards. Deliver exceptional levels of accuracy and service while consistently meeting month-end and year-end deadlines.
