Ambition is delighted to be partnering with a well-established international law firm in its search for a Billing Manager to lead the Billing team in London, with operational oversight of two additional international offices.

- What you'll be doing
- Act as the primary escalation point for Partners, ensuring complex billing matters are resolved promptly and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Become trusted relationships with Partners, clients, and business leaders to understand billing expectations and optimise invoicing processes.
- Take overall responsibility for Work in Progress (WIP) management, partnering with Revenue Controllers to maximise billing performance and cash collection.
- Analyse and communicate financial performance through regular reporting on WIP, billing trends, KPIs, and target achievement.
- Direct the end-to-end billing lifecycle across a diverse portfolio of billing arrangements, including e-Billing, e-Invoicing, international, multi-payor, and composite billing.
- Collaborate with business units to ensure client and matter records are structured correctly, reflecting billing protocols, rate arrangements, budgets, tax requirements, and outside counsel guidelines.
- Work in partnership with the Director of Financial Operations and international office leadership to deliver a consistent and seamless billing experience across all jurisdictions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the billing team, ensuring appropriate resourcing, talent development, succession planning, and performance standards.
- Facilitate finance forums, Partner briefings, and training sessions to drive adoption of billing best practices and improve commercial awareness across the firm.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and standardise billing processes, working closely with global finance teams to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Maintain comprehensive process documentation and ensure all billing activities withstand internal and external audit scrutiny.
