Operating and monitoring a CNC horizontal lathe to manufacture precision rail components for the rail industry in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Setting up machines
- Loading and unloading raw and finished material
- Monitoring tooling and insert wear and usage
- Ensuring all axles produced are following quality and safety standards
Key Skills & Experience
- CNC knowledge is essential for this role
- Experience setting up machines, loading programs and setting work offsets
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Familiar with Fanuc controls
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment
- Understanding of tooling & inserts
- Strong attention to detail to ensure tight tolerances are achieved and maintained
- Understanding of CNC programs
Qualifications
- Time served preferred or ability to demonstrate a good level of experience in CNC
Hours of work: 37 hours per week. Working a 3 shift pattern.
