We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Gas / Heating Engineer to join their busy and growing team based in Thurrock. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer to carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on domestic heating and hot water systems across a regional customer base. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring heating and hot water systems are operating safely and efficiently, delivering high standards of workmanship and excellent customer service at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repair works on domestic heating systems across a variety of residential properties.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs in a timely and effective manner.
  • Deliver a high level of customer care when dealing with clients and tenants.
  • Provide updates on job progress and complete required paperwork electronically and manually.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH procedures.
  • Follow stock ordering and auditing procedures to ensure parts availability.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours evening and weekend call-out rota.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Gas / Heating Engineer within domestic properties.
  • Essential gas qualifications including: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1.
  • Strong fault-finding and repair skills.
  • Professional, friendly, and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
  • Successful completion of criminal record and reference checks required before employment.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm (1 hour lunch break)
  • Evening and weekend call-out rota required.
