A leading structural steel company based in Winsford is looking for an experienced Steel Yard Improver / Labourer with Overhead Crane Operating experience to join their busy yard team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual with experience working in a steel fabrication or engineering environment.
Duties will include:
- Loading and unloading structural steel materials
- Operating overhead cranes safely and efficiently
- Moving and organising steel stock within the yard
- Preparing steel for fabrication and dispatch
- General yard duties including housekeeping and material handling
- Supporting the wider production team to ensure smooth operations
- Following all site health and safety procedures
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working within a steel yard, fabrication, engineering, or manufacturing environment
- Experience operating overhead cranes (essential)
- Good understanding of manual handling and safe working practices
- A strong work ethic with good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:45 – 16:45 Friday: 07:45 – 12:45 Total hours: 39 hours per week
Pay Rate: Basic Rate: £19.04 per hour Overtime Rate: £25.93 per hour (after 39 hours worked)
Payment method: CIS or Umbrella only
