Ambitek are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Gas / Heating Engineer to join their busy and growing team based in Thurrock. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer to work across a regional domestic customer base, carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on heating and hot water systems while benefiting from long-term career stability, excellent support, and a strong benefits package.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring domestic heating and hot water systems are operating safely and efficiently, delivering high standards of workmanship and excellent customer service at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repair works on domestic heating systems across a variety of residential properties
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs in a timely and effective manner
  • Deliver a high level of customer care when dealing with clients and tenants
  • Provide updates on job progress and complete required paperwork electronically and manually
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH procedures
  • Follow stock ordering and auditing procedures to ensure parts availability
  • Participate in the out-of-hours evening and weekend call-out rota
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Gas / Heating Engineer within domestic properties
  • Essential gas qualifications:
    • CCN1
    • CENWAT
    • HTR1
    • CKR1
  • Strong fault-finding and repair skills
  • Professional, friendly, and customer-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • Successful completion of criminal record and reference checks required prior to employment
Working Hours

Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm, 1-hour lunch break. Evening and weekend call-out rota required.
