Ambitek are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a shutdown at a busy chemical processing plant in Stalybridge, starting Tuesday 15th September. The shutdown is scheduled to run for 2 weeks, but there is a significant amount of ongoing work at the site — for the right candidate who shows a good attitude and a willingness to get stuck in, this has real potential to run on well beyond the initial 2 weeks. The Role This is maintenance-focused shutdown work at an operational chemical plant. You'll need to be comfortable working in a live industrial/process environment, with the skills and awareness that come with it. What we're looking for: * Previous experience in the chemical / process industry (essential) * Mechanical Fitter background with strong maintenance experience * Knowledge of line breaking / cutting lines and safe isolation procedures * Good attitude and reliability — this site has ongoing work for the right person * Own PPE and relevant certification (CSCS/CCNSG or site-specific passport preferred) Hours Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:30pm, with occasional Saturday working (1 hour overtime per day, Mon–Fri). Pay Rates * Basic: £24.05 per hour * Overtime (weekday & Saturday): £28.70 per hour * Sunday: £33.35 per hour Paid via CIS, LTD or Umbrella — whichever suits you.
