Ambitek are currently recruiting for a Marine Project Manager (Ship Manager) for our client based over in Birkenhead.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee daily schedules and maintain effective communication with teams.
- Enhance productivity and efficiency across all operations.
- Focus on increasing gross margins, reducing costs, and maximizing sales opportunities.
- Coordinate various trade disciplines and subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of work.
- Optimize resource levels for better workflow.
- Manage the costs of materials and consumables effectively.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage innovation.
- Regularly monitor performance and adjust outputs when necessary.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness and decision‑making related to "build or buy" strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and codes, including ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO18001.
- Uphold and enforce QA/QC procedures, ensuring all departmental work adheres to the required regulations.
- Ensure all work under your control aligns with the company's Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
- Conduct frequent work area inspections to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and practices.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Apprenticeship, HNC/HND level qualification, or equivalent experience in Marine/Mechanical/Electrical disciplines.
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of marine vessels, along with a solid understanding of Planned Maintenance Systems.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Classification Society Rules.
- Experience supporting vessel docking and maintenance periods.
