The Role: As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a key role in upholding and improving the standards that keep our customers satisfied and our workplace safe. Reporting to the Quality Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring customer satisfaction through consistent adherence to quality standards;
- Adherence to health, safety and hygiene procedures, whilst driving a safety-first culture;
- Performing regular instrument calibrations in line with the calibration schedule;
- Inspecting and testing products at various stages of the process to ensure quality compliance;
- Assisting with product retests and managing dispositioning of non-conforming/stopped product;
- Supporting finished pack audits and documentation;
- Conducting environmental testing and generating accurate reports;
- Carrying out routine process checks to maintain consistent production standards;
- Leading or supporting customer claim investigations, providing root cause analysis and solutions;
- Performing detailed troubleshooting on the paper machine and customer converting lines;
- Assisting with machine trials, conducting hands-on product testing (including flexible work patterns as required).
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in quality control or assurance role, or a degree in a relevant scientific, technical or engineering discipline.
- A qualification in 6 sigma green belt or above, along with ISO auditor experience, is desirable.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, precision and accuracy in testing and reporting, have strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills and have a strong work ethic, along with a proactive and independent approach.
