Manual Grinder required for a permanent role with a medium-sized engineering firm. Our client, a well-established engineering company, is seeking a skilled Manual Grinder to join their toolroom team. This role initially operates on a morning shift moving on to afternoons.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual surface and cylindrical grinding machines to produce parts to tight tolerances, including:
- Jones & Shipman 540 Surface Grinder
- Jones & Shipman 1300 Cylindrical Grinder
- XYZ 2040 Surface Grinder
- Abwood RG1 Circular Ring Grinder
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in toolroom manual grinding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of CNC grinding machines advantageous (training available)
- Experience with CMM inspection machines advantageous
- Reliable, motivated, and quality-focused
Hours & Pay
- Monday-Thursday: 3.00pm to 1.00am
- 36 hours per week
- Permanent role with potential for career progression
