Mechanical Maintenance Engineer: Job Purpose To provide day to day maintenance support to the Manufacturing Teams. To ensure the safe and uninterrupted running of all plant, equipment, and services, and respond to breakdowns same day. Key Accountabilities Provide Daily Maintenance support Respond to breakdowns and repair. Prioritise maintenance jobs in conjunction with the Operations Team as per business needs. Complete tooling changes on presses as requested. Manage press tooling procurement and improvement. Improvements and planned maintenance across Manufacturing. Ensure routine machine maintenance is carried out as necessary. Available for out of hours advise or call out attendance as required. Work with external contractors on both preventative & reactive works Work to health and safety guidelines and ensure practices are maintained and developed. Work in a safe manner both to themselves and to their colleagues. Comply with all relevant H&S policies and procedures and act as a role model in demonstrating compliance within the workplace. Assist with problem solving any issues that appear. Knowledge / Skills/ Engineering Experience Completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship Minimum ONC in Mechanically biased Maintenance Engineering. Good understanding of engineering practices and methods Knowledge of working on Presses, Furnaces, (Automated Valves, pumps, etc) Electrical knowledge desirable. Communication & Leadership Good communications skills able to converse with internal team and external contractors. Driven and flexible. Acts with initiative. Computer skills. Knowledge of Excel, able to understand and interpret spreadsheets. Able to work with maintenance management software (Shire systems) SharePoint and understand the limitations / processes of these systems. Good understanding of Word, Outlook & PowerPoint. Special Attributes. Able to think logically through solving a problem. Able to manage conflicting priorities and react in a clear and rational manner.
