We are recruiting experienced Manual Machinists / Manual Turners to join a leading shipyard in Birkenhead on an ongoing temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work on major marine engineering projects with competitive PAYE rates and regular overtime available.
The Role
As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for machining a variety of precision components used within the shipbuilding and marine engineering sector. You will be expected to work accurately from engineering drawings while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Setting and operating manual lathes and milling machines.
- Machining components to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Producing high-quality precision parts within required tolerances.
- Using precision measuring equipment to inspect finished components.
- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.
- Working as part of an experienced engineering team within a busy shipyard.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or Manual Turner.
- Experience operating manual milling machines is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
