Our client are a global engineering firm who are looking to recruit a quality engineer to join the team. The role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet industry and customer standards, while maintaining compliance throughout the production process.
Responsibilities
- Conduct final inspections of finished parts and assemblies
- Perform in-process inspections, including subcontracted processes
- Analyse data and generate certification documents for customer compliance
- Liaise with multiple departments such as Production, Customer Services, and Commercial
- Complete QA documentation, including quality control plans, inspection plans, and test reports
- Handle failed inspections by conducting root cause analysis, collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve issues, and implementing corrective actions
- Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models with a focus on precision
- Use tools such as CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), digital calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators to assess part accuracy
Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with ISO9001, AS9100D (Aerospace), and AS9102 (FAI) standards
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
- Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in an aerospace environment is preferred
- Strong analytical skills with experience handling and interpreting data for certifications
- Ability to resolve issues with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Good understanding of quality control and assurance processes
- Experience with measurement tools like CMM, digital calipers, and micrometers is essential
