Our client is a medium sized engineering firm looking for a powder coater.
Job Function:
- Wash all components that require powder coating, rinse with solution to aid adhesion.
- Rub down if required to prepare the required powder coated surface to enable a secure adhesion of the colours.
- Ensure that the surface is suitable for the powder coating process to commence.
- Ensuring that all components and the fan cases are completely covered, creating a good high quality finish.
- Continuously assessing the assemblies for quality and ensuring that all areas of the construction meet the agreed specification and conformance requirements.
- Reporting of all non‑conforming parts/parts of poor quality to the production supervisor.
- Ensure that all work undertaken is fully understood, and the correct process, colour and finish are required before commencing the final painting of components.
- Comply with the standards and procedures adopted by the company, comply with all Health and Safety mandates.
- Complete all work within the given timeframe and to specification, complete all relevant quality checks and fulfil all recording requirements.
- Complete assigned housekeeping activities ensuring a clean safe working environment, participation in activities associated around the manufacture of fan cases and embracing new technologies.
Knowledge / Skills / Expertise:
- Experience in a powder‑coating environment would be an advantage, and being fully aware of the need to supply quality products to our customer.
- NVQ qualification in a powder‑coating role would be advantageous.
- Possess a good solid understanding of different techniques associated with powder coating.
- Must be able to recognise/identify colours from charts and other methods to identify the customers colour specification.
- The ability to work under instruction and also have the ability to work independently.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Experience with wet paint would be an advantage.
Hours are 6am to 3pm. This role is long term temporary with a view to possibly going permanent.
