The predicted salary is between 28800 - 48000 £ per year.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Design & develop new mechanisms & machine systems to support project requirements.
  • Adaptation of existing designs where required to support customer specifications.
  • Supporting downstream departments to execute new/existing designs including identifying opportunities for design improvement/value engineering.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Design & detailing of new components, mechanisms & systems.
  • Development of new processes including the use of new materials.
  • Development of existing components/designs.
  • Issuing of machine parts on SAP in accordance with machine delivery schedules.
  • Supporting assembly/manufacturing in building/commissioning machines.
  • Liaising with the Sales team to provide support for technical bids.
  • Creating customer documentation and creating/maintaining records to customer's own standards.
  • Conduct design reviews, DFMEAs and PFMEAs.
  • Working on machine design projects (machine specification, mechanism design, tooling design…etc.) as required.
  • Understand, and work at all times in line with Values and Directives; specifically following the highest standards of health and safety.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested.

Key Skills Requirements:

  • Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous CAD experience preferable, ideally Siemens NX.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel etc.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
  • Ability to work with various departments and with people at all levels of the company.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
