Our client is a medium sized engineering firm looking to recruit a manual grinder to join the team. The role is initially on a morning shift but will transition to 2 shifts eventually with a rate increase when this happens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experienced in setting/operating manual surface grinding and cylindrical grinding machines producing parts to tight tolerances.
- Strong problem solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small, dedicated team.
- To measure and inspect manufactured items to assure accuracy to the drawing and report any deficiencies to the inspector and your line manager.
- To perform routine maintenance on equipment, oil & coolant level checks.
- To produce work to the quality standard required whilst keeping waste to a minimum.
- To follow written instructions, safe working practices and to always maintain a safe and tidy work area.
- To help improve safety, quality and productivity through the continual improvement process.
Requirements:
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications for tight tolerance work.
- Excellent knowledge within a Toolroom grinding department.
- Knowledge of CNC grinding machines advantageous (Training available).
- Knowledge of CMM Inspection machines advantageous.
The role is 36 hours per week, 6am to 3pm Monday to Thursday.
