Mechanical Assembly Fitter. To re-assemble doors and products with hardware, components and materials supplied from stock. To fit custom parts using hand tools and associated equipment. Finish doors and products to a standard acceptable for final delivery to end user. Pack finished products for delivery.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • To re-assemble doors and products to drawings using stock parts and materials including fitting of insulation materials.
  • Fit custom parts using hand tools.
  • Finish doors and products to a standard acceptable for final delivery to end user.
  • Complete product documentation in line with project requirements.
  • Assist with manual handling operations when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace and report any potential risks or hazards to supervisors.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as may be required, and as commensurate with the grade of post.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Essential Experience of working with small hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Ability to follow fitting instructions, standard operating procedures and general assembly drawings.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, within the re-assembly team.
  • Desirable Experience of steel door manufacture or similar.
  • Working knowledge of door hardware and locking systems.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology.
  • FLT driving with appropriate licence.

Hours of Work: 4 days per week Mon – Thurs. 06.30 - 16.15. 37 hours on the shop floor (overtime available when busy).

Salary: £35,685.85 - £18.48 per hour. Excellent benefits package.
