Our client, a well-established engineering company, is seeking a skilled Goods In Person to oversee the inwards goods and material handling processes. This is a hands-on role in a busy production environment with opportunities to support quality, safety, and efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities – Goods In Materials Controller
- Manage the inwards booking of all raw materials and subcontract machined parts prior to inspection
- Saw raw materials according to planning route cards
- Conduct stage inspection of bought-out fabricated parts
- Control material stock levels and report shortages to the planning team
- Move raw materials to machining departments with proper documentation
- Unload raw material wagons using forklift truck when required
- Transport raw material bars using overhead crane
- Perform pressure testing of rollers using test rigs and record data (training provided)
- Support continual improvement initiatives for safety, quality, and productivity
- Follow written instructions, safe working practices, and maintain a safe working environment
Candidate Requirements
- Competent in using computers for stock control, timesheets, and emails
- Evidence of training in safe use of overhead cranes and forklift truck operation
- Ability to use measuring equipment and power saws for raw material cutting
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is an advantage
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Reliable, proactive, and quality-focused
Hours & Pay
- Monday – Thursday: 6:55am – 4.55pm
- 38 hours per week
- Permanent role with career progression opportunities
