Role: Senior VFD Technician

We are seeking a Senior VFD Technician to install and repair VFD systems for clients in the NY/NJ area. Responsibilities include installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of VFD units in the field, responding to equipment breakdowns, conducting on-site repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and advising on equipment upgrades. Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoot, start-up, commission, and verify proper functionality of various brands of VFDs.
2. Coordinate with management to run an efficient service department through effective staffing, customer retention, and cost control.
3. Establish and maintain good relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
4. Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimize callbacks.
5. Keep management and customers informed of job progress and issues.
6. Provide options for additional work and services based on established protocols.
7. Prioritize safety procedures and maintain awareness of personal and team safety.

Requirements:

1. 7+ years of experience with multiple manufacturers of Variable Frequency Drives.
2. Valid driver’s license; ability to lift 50 pounds and work from heights or ladders.
3. Strong knowledge of three-phase motors and control circuits.
4. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, safety rules, operation manuals, and written directions, including PID\’s, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematics.
5. Installation and troubleshooting skills for heating and cooling systems.
6. OSHA 30 certification.
7. SST certification.
8. Ability to prepare inspection and appraisal reports.
9. Good interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
10. Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills.
11. Basic computer skills.
12. Experience programming, calibrating, and configuring 4-20 mA & 0-10 Vdc devices.
13. Ability to work independently without supervision.
14. Experience with gas detection systems and DriSteem Humidifiers is a plus.

Estimated Salary: $110,000 – $135,000, flexible based on experience and skills.
