Activity Coordinator

Service Name: Brook Street

Salary: £12.21 per hour

Hours: 2 X Part-time Positions Available of 19 Hours PW

*Driver preferred due to the people we support needs*

Who are Ambient Support?

Ambient Support, a registered UK charity with over 25 years' experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with a mental health needs and people with learning disabilities.

Our service in Erith is a Day and Drop-in service providing flexible, person-centred, stimulating support in a community-based setting for individuals with learning difficulties. The Drop-in and Day service provides access to a range of different activities and outings**

The role of our Activity Coordinator:

* Providing social and emotional support, either at home and/or in their local community

* Supporting residents with their personal care including personal hygiene needs if required.

* Support with their shopping and assisting with budgeting.

* Building/maintaining relationship with friends and family of our residents

* Household tasks including cooking, cleaning, and laundry.

* Going out for walks, meals and other activities that supported individuals may want to experience.

* To plan and implement programmes of activities both within the Home and outside and to maintain a record of activities for each person we support.

* To be involved with the key work in planning an individual programme of activities.

* To organise and carry out physical, occupational, recreational, and educational activities to meet the needs of the people we support

* To build and maintain good relationships with the local community

* To always act in a way that presents a positive image

Skills and attributes of our Activity Coordinator:

– Good communication skills, patience, and flexibility.

– An understanding of safeguarding and person-centred support.

– A flexible working pattern and able to do shift work.

– Experience is desirable, however, is not essential, as we offer full training for all of our Staff.
