Rate: Up to £550 per day

Are you an experienced Finance Manager with a strong background in education finance and local government? A London-based local authority is seeking a skilled and proactive Finance Manager to support Education and Schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring for the Education department, including Schools and Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) funding.
  • Provide expert financial advice to senior stakeholders, including Heads of Service and School Forum representatives.
  • Prepare and present reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Work closely with service managers to ensure robust financial controls and effective resource allocation.
  • Contribute to the authority’s medium-term financial planning and strategic priorities.
  • Support audit processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role within local government, ideally supporting education services.
