Finance Manager - Education
Location: London (Hybrid - Occasional Office Presence Required)
Rate: Up to £550 per day
Are you an experienced Finance Manager with a strong background in education finance and local government? A London-based local authority is seeking a skilled and proactive Finance Manager to support Education and Schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring for the Education department, including Schools and Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) funding.
- Provide expert financial advice to senior stakeholders, including Heads of Service and School Forum representatives.
- Prepare and present reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Work closely with service managers to ensure robust financial controls and effective resource allocation.
- Contribute to the authority’s medium-term financial planning and strategic priorities.
- Support audit processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a senior finance role within local government, ideally supporting education services.
