Retail Security Officer

As a Retail Security Officer you will provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, and collaborate with local authorities. You will be expected to carry out all guarding responsibilities whilst in store, such as:

• Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activity
• Assessing and identifying vulnerabilities, and working proactively to minimise risk
• Liaising with management and local authorities when applicable
• Managing vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid causing distress
• Completing colleague and contractor searches in line with company policy
• Digitally reporting incidents and using tablets/phones for daily activity planning
• Providing detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities

Hours & Shift Pattern

59 Hours per week. Shift pattern: 42 Hours — Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat 13:00‑22:00; Sun 11:00‑17:00. 17 Hours — Mon 14:00‑22:00; Tue 13:00‑22:00; plus relief shifts around the area.

£13.54

The Person

To be an effective Security Officer you must be a confident communicator, able to provide detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity. You should be welcoming and patient with customers, and handle conflict in a professional manner.

Required Experience and Qualification

You must have a valid SIA licence to apply for this role. Previous experience in a retail security role is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.
