Role Details
Location: Kirkcaldy
Hours: 30 hours a week
Shift Pattern: Thursday to Sunday (30 hours a week)
Hourly Rate: £12.50
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity.
- Assess and identify vulnerabilities, and work proactively to minimize risk.
- Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
- Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid causing distress.
- Complete colleague and contractor searches in line with customer company policy.
- Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning.
- Provide detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities.
The Person
To be an effective Security Officer you must be a confident communicator, capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of incidents. You should be welcoming and patient with customers, and able to handle conflict in a professional manner.
Required Experience and Qualifications
You must have a valid SIA licence. Previous experience in a retail security role is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.
