Location & Hours
- Location: Burley
- Hours: 16 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: Tuesday 12:00‑22:00 and Sunday 11:00‑17:00
- Hourly Rate: £13.54
Responsibilities
- Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity
- Assess and identify vulnerabilities, working proactively to minimise risk
- Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable
- Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
- Complete colleague and contractor searches when required, in line with customer policy
- Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning
- Provide detailed, legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities
Requirements & Qualifications
- To be an effective Security Officer, you will need to be a confident communicator who can provide detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity.
- You should be welcoming, patient with customers, and able to handle conflict professionally.
- Valid SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence (current)
- Previous experience in a retail security role is an advantage but not essential; full training will be provided
- Full 5‑year checkable work or back‑to‑school history
- Right to work in the UK and recent proof of address
