Position Details
- Location: Blackburn
- Hours: Varied (Relief Position)
- Shift Pattern: Varied (Relief Position)
- Hourly Rate: Site dependent, between £12.21 - £15.00 per hour
Main Responsibilities:
- Providing a visible deterrent and responding to incidents.
- Completing incident reports and collaborating with local authorities.
- Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activity.
- Assessing and identifying vulnerabilities, and working proactively to minimise risk.
- Liaising with management and local authorities when applicable.
- Managing vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid causing distress.
- Completing colleague and contractor searches when required, in line with customer company policy.
- Digitally reporting incidents and using tablets or phones for daily activity planning.
- Producing detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities.
The Person
To be an effective Security Officer, you must be a confident communicator, capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity or incidents. You will need to be welcoming and patient with customers and able to handle conflict in a calm and professional manner.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- You must hold a valid SIA licence to apply for this role.
- Previous experience in a retail security role is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- You must be able to provide a full five-year checkable work or education history.
