Retail Security Officer – Amberstone Security

We are hiring a Retail Security Officer to provide visible deterrence and respond to incidents in a busy retail setting.

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: £12.60
• Hours: 40 per week
• Shift Pattern: Mon – Thu 11:00‑21:00

Location

Barnsley, United Kingdom

Responsibilities

• Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity.
• Assess and identify vulnerabilities, and work proactively to minimise risk.
• Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
• Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress.
• Conduct colleague and contractor searches in line with company policy.
• Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning.
• Provide detailed and legible incident reporting to assist client and local authorities.

Requirements

• Valid SIA Guarding licence (or SIA Door Supervisor).
• Previous retail security experience preferred but not essential.
• Full 5‑year checkable work or education history.
• Right‑to‑work documentation available for interview.
