We’re hiring a Head of Engineering (VP Level) to lead an 80‑strong onshore engineering organisation across the UK and Ireland. Functions include Engineering, DevOps, QA, Architecture, and Platform. Reporting to the CTO, you’ll set the technology direction, deliver a fast‑moving roadmap, and build a high‑performance engineering culture. You’ll also own a substantial engineering budget and play a key role in shaping the FP&A platform’s future.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow an 80-person engineering team with 5-6 direct reports
- Deliver the FP&A roadmap at pace and quality
- Oversee development, DevOps, QA, platform, and architecture
- Drive AI adoption across engineering to boost velocity and quality
- Improve tooling, observability, testing, and deployment
- Strengthen engineering KPIs and performance visibility
- Make strategic recommendations on tech direction and investment
- Work with the CPTO, CISO, and Product leaders on standards and SDLC best practice
- Oversee Azure hosting and cloud delivery
- Ensure engineering resources align with business and customer needs
- Support M&A integration where required
- Build a strong, collaborative engineering culture across UK and Ireland
- Mentor senior leaders and develop future capability
AI Focus
AI is key to the next phase of the platform. You’ll lead AI adoption across engineering and work with Product and Data teams to deliver safe, accurate AI‑driven features. You’ll have access to modern LLM Ops tooling and infrastructure.
Candidate Profile
- Experience leading 30+ onshore engineers
- Operated at Head/VP Engineering level
- Solid grounding in .NET, C#, and modern architecture
- FP&A/EPM/financial software experience is a major plus
- Strong understanding of metrics, observability, and instrumentation
- Passion for AI in engineering with real‑world delivery
- PE experience preferred
- Commercial, data‑driven, and ROI‑focused
- Strong communicator with high EQ
- Experience managing at least ÂŁ1m+ engineering budgets
- Proven ability to build positive, high‑performance engineering cultures
