Founding Chief of Staff at a scaled AI startup from Series A to C in deep-tech AI, stealth mode. This is a founding-team seat, the right hand to the founder. It is not an EA or PA role. If you have not operated at the strategic, investor-facing level of a scaling startup, this will not be the right fit.
This role has a strong research and intelligence edge. You'll be hands-on in the data daily, mining PitchBook and other sources to extract market, competitor, and investor insight, then shaping it into sharp, compelling material for investors. Experience at an AI company backed by a top-tier investor (think Sequoia, a16z, Index, YC, EF, or Radical) is required.
The business is founded by a proven, ex-MIT founder who has built world-leading AI companies, now running his own and doing something almost nobody else is. The technology is radically more compute-efficient than typical AI, which means rare, genuinely healthy economics in an industry where most companies lose money on every customer. Patented software, real paying customers, profitable, and roughly four years of runway, built in just 18 months, quietly, in stealth. Backed by serious specialist investors, with a team pulled from top 1% institutions. This is a rigorous, research-led company, not a hype-driven one.
The role involves being the founder's right hand, sitting between the business and the technology, so his time goes to product, research, and customers. You will own the operating rhythm: investor relationships, board cadence, planning, and the decisions that keep a lean team moving. You will translate complex technical work into a clear, compelling business story for sophisticated, detail-oriented investors. Supporting fundraising includes preparing materials, managing processes, and keeping data and narrative tight. You will build and run the practical machinery of a fast-growing company, doing whatever it takes at founding level, while protecting highly sensitive information in stealth.
Who this is for: You have been an early-stage Chief of Staff, joining a small founding team with early revenue and helping scale it into something serious and well-known in the AI world. Early building experience matters here far more than running ops at a large, established company. You have been a Chief of Staff (or close) at a top-tier AI company that genuinely scaled, across funding, ARR, headcount, and customer base, through multiple rounds. Experience at an AI company backed by a top-tier investor (think Sequoia, a16z, Index, YC, EF, or Radical) is required. You have personally lived through the journey from Series A to C and beyond. You can engage investors directly and make complex technical work land with them. You do not need to be an engineer, but you do need to be exceptional with a top-tier academic background.
Bonus: Fluent French or Spanish would be a big plus.
Logistics: London-based, with regular travel to Boston, France, and Spain. £185K to £300K base, plus 5% to 10% equity at founding-team status.
