Senior Java Engineer
Cardiff (4 days per month onsite) – £60,000 – £75,000 + Benefits – SC Clearance Eligibility Required – Face‑to‑face interviews: 6th or 7th July
We're looking for experienced Senior Java Engineers to join a growing team delivering complex, enterprise-scale solutions within an Agile environment.

What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and developing scalable, high-performance applications.
- Building cloud-native microservices using modern engineering practices.
- Working in a true DevOps environment with a strong focus on automation and continuous delivery.
- Writing clean, maintainable code with quality at the forefront, using TDD and engineering best practices.
- Collaborating closely with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
- Contributing to architecture and helping drive continuous improvement across the software delivery life cycle.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Strong commercial Java development experience
- Experience with Spring or Spring Boot
- Knowledge of software design patterns and engineering principles
- Experience with CI/CD and modern development practices
- Containerisation experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
- Passion for producing high-quality, well-tested code
Desirable
- Experience designing microservice architectures
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design, CQRS or Event Sourcing
- Experience with Kubernetes
- AWS, Azure or GCP exposure
- Spring certifications

Important Information
- This role requires attendance in Cardiff four days per month, so candidates should be based within a reasonable commuting distance.
- Candidates must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC) (typically requiring five years' continuous UK residency).
