Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Interim Registered Manager to lead a residential care home in Stalybridge for an initial 6-month period. This role is ideal for a confident and capable leader who can ensure regulatory compliance, maintain high standards of care, and provide stability during a transitional period. The successful candidate must hold NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care and have previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager within a residential care setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Provide strong leadership and day‐to‐day operational management of the care home
  • Maintain and improve the quality of care delivered, ensuring person‐centred practices are embedded throughout the service
  • Lead, support, and manage staff teams, including supervision, appraisals, and performance management
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and concerns are appropriately managed
  • Oversee staffing levels, rota management, and recruitment where required
  • Manage audits, inspections, and action plans, responding effectively to any regulatory feedback
  • Maintain accurate records, policies, and procedures in line with legislation and best practice
  • Work closely with senior management, external professionals, residents, and families

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Previously registered with the CQC as a Registered Manager
  • Proven experience managing a residential care home
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and quality frameworks
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to quickly assess services and implement improvements where needed

Desirable

  • Experience working in interim or turnaround roles
  • Strong inspection history with CQC
