Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting on behalf of a well-established care provider for an experienced Registered Children’s Home Manager to lead a specialist residential children’s home in Bromyard. This service supports children and young people who present with challenging behaviours and harmful sexualised behaviours, and therefore requires a strong, experienced leader with a solid understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic approaches. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the home operates to the highest standards while delivering safe, structured, and supportive care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead, develop, and support a residential staff team to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care.
  • Provide a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for children and young people.
  • Manage and support young people presenting with challenging behaviours and harmful sexualised behaviours.
  • Oversee care planning, behaviour management strategies, and individual risk assessments.
  • Ensure robust safeguarding and child protection practices are embedded within the home.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Work closely with social workers, therapists, families, and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for young people.
  • Manage staff performance through supervision, training, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager with Ofsted within a children’s residential home.
  • Significant experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviours and complex needs.
  • Experience working with or understanding harmful sexualised behaviours in young people is highly desirable.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
  • Strong leadership, safeguarding knowledge, and team management skills.
  • Ability to manage complex behaviours and support staff in challenging situations.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
