An established nursing and care home provider is seeking an experienced Clinical Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, person-centred care within a nursing and care home setting. This is a fully supernumerary role, with the expectation to cover clinical shifts when required and participate in an on-call rota. The successful candidate will provide strong clinical leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the development and performance of the nursing and wider care team.

About You

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN
  • Proven experience as a Deputy Manager within nursing and care home environments
  • Strong working knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks
  • Confident clinical leader with a compassionate, person-centred approach
  • Experienced in care planning, risk assessments, and clinical documentation
  • Sound knowledge of MCA, DoLS, and medicines management

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in monitoring and improving standards of care and performance
  • Lead, motivate, mentor, and support the nursing and wider care team
  • Ensure residents’ physical, emotional, and social needs are met
  • Develop, update, and review care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Oversee medicines management in line with legal and professional requirements
  • Maintain accurate, compliant clinical records in line with NMC guidelines and legislation
  • Participate in shared on‑call responsibilities and respond to emergencies as required
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure resident welfare is protected at all times
  • Liaise effectively with external healthcare professionals
  • Act as a role model, mentor, and clinical resource for staff

  • Work in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct
  • Deliver nursing care in line with best practice, policies, and procedures
  • Attend mandatory and additional training as required
