Service size: Small home – 30 beds

Role Purpose
To support the Service Manager in leading a small specialist residential service, ensuring safe, high-quality care and regulatory compliance. The Deputy Manager will supervise staff, oversee daily operations, and maintain person-centered support. In the Service Manager\’s absence, they will take full responsibility for the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support the delivery of care plans to meet individual needs.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, clinical, and health & safety standards.
- Supervise, develop, and motivate staff, ensuring effective rotas and performance management.
- Support budget control, medication management, and accurate record-keeping.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for service users and staff.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with families, professionals, and stakeholders.
- Lead or support investigations, audits, and service improvements as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN.
- Experience in a supervisory or deputy management role within a care or supported living setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Sound understanding of CQC standards and care compliance.
Desirable
- Experience managing budgets and financial processes.
- Qualification in Health and Social Care (Level 3 or above).
