Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting on behalf of a well-established care provider for an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a specialist residential children's home in Bromyard. This service supports children and young people who present with challenging behaviours and harmful sexualised behaviours, and therefore requires a strong, experienced leader with a solid understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic approaches. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the home operates to the highest standards while delivering safe, structured, and supportive care.
Key Responsibilities
- Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead, develop, and support a residential staff team to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care.
- Provide a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for children and young people.
- Manage and support young people presenting with challenging behaviours and harmful sexualised behaviours.
- Oversee care planning, behaviour management strategies, and individual risk assessments.
- Ensure robust safeguarding and child protection practices are embedded within the home.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Work closely with social workers, therapists, families, and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for young people.
- Manage staff performance through supervision, training, and professional development.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager with Ofsted within a children's residential home.
- Significant experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviours and complex needs.
- Experience working with or understanding harmful sexualised behaviours in young people is highly desirable.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Strong leadership, safeguarding knowledge, and team management skills.
- Ability to manage complex behaviours and support staff in challenging situations.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
