We are looking for a dedicated, hands-on Deputy Manager to join a well-established residential care home, known for its fantastic reputation and a Good CQC rating. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager, or a Unit Manager ready to take the next step in their career. You will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, leading by example, and ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager in the effective day-to-day management of the home.
- Lead, motivate and develop the care team to deliver outstanding person-centred care.
- Be a visible, hands-on presence on the floor, supporting residents and staff.
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, policies and procedures.
- Assist with care planning, audits, quality monitoring and safeguarding.
- Take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Support recruitment, induction, training and supervision of staff.
- Promote a positive, inclusive culture focused on dignity, respect and excellence.
About You:
- Ideally an established Deputy Manager, or a Unit Manager looking to step up.
- Previous experience in a residential care setting (essential).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A hands-on, supportive management style.
- Sound understanding of CQC regulations and compliance.
- Ability to lead by example and inspire a high-performing team.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (essential); Level 5 or working towards (desirable).
