Key Responsibilities: Understanding and representing the voice of the user throughout the product development lifecycle. Guiding digital services through Government Digital Service (GDS) assessments, taking services from Discovery, Alpha, Beta to Live. Approaching user engagement from a design-led perspective, contrasting with a traditional requirements/business analysis approach. Working in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating effectively with Product Managers, Content Designers, and Interaction Designers. Integrating user research insights into the product development process. Analysing and synthesising research data to provide clear findings that inform decision-making. Involving colleagues in the analysis and synthesis process, fostering consensus and challenging assumptions. Understanding of the diversity of users within the public sector and a commitment to inclusive research practices. Including users from various backgrounds and abilities in research activities to ensure the delivery of accessible services. Select and apply appropriate research methods based on the product life cycle and specific project requirements. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology). Proven experience as a User Researcher in a public sector context. Familiarity with GDS standards and experience guiding services through assessments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
