We are seeking a highly skilled Service Designer with SC clearance and strong GDS (Government Digital Service) experience to join our team. You will work on high-profile government projects, designing end-to-end services that meet user needs while aligning with government digital standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead service design activities across the full service lifecycle, from discovery to live.
  • Conduct user research and collaborate with User Researchers, Content Designers, and Interaction Designers to create user-centred services.
  • Develop service maps, blueprints, and process flows to visualise and improve user journeys.
  • Work closely with policy, operational, and technical teams to design holistic services.
  • Ensure services align with GDS Service Standards and follow accessibility and inclusion best practices.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagements to co-design and validate service improvements.
  • Iterate service designs based on user feedback, analytics, and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to service assessments and ensure services pass GDS assessments where applicable.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • SC Cleared
  • Strong experience in service design within government projects.
  • Deep understanding of GDS Service Standard, GOV.UK patterns, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Proficiency in mapping user journeys, service blueprints, and process flows.
  • Experience working in Agile teams using Agile methodologies.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation and user-centred design principles.

This role at Amber Labs is a 12 Month FTC position, and all employees are required to meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Please be advised that, at this time, we are unable to consider candidates who require sponsorship or hold a visa of any type.
