We’re looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a major UK government project focused on the safe and responsible use of AI. You’ll help shape and deliver AI-enabled services that improve efficiency and transform how departments work, from workflow automation to smarter use of Microsoft 365 and Copilot tools.
What you’ll do:
- Work with multidisciplinary teams including researchers, designers, policy experts and engineers to translate insights into clear, prioritised user stories.
- Build, manage and refine product backlogs, ensuring stories are well-defined, testable and aligned with programme objectives.
- Assess and document delivery options, comparing the benefits of Copilot and Microsoft 365-based solutions against bespoke development.
- Develop frameworks to support evidence-based decision making and ensure solutions meet user and business needs.
- Support agile delivery teams, ensuring requirements are ready for development and outcomes meet agreed standards.
- Communicate findings, recommendations and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to the creation of reusable playbooks and best practice guidance on backlog management and AI adoption.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on UK government digital projects or within other large, complex organisations.
- Strong background in agile delivery, managing backlogs and defining clear, actionable user stories with measurable acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with AI-driven solutions, Microsoft Copilot, or Microsoft 365 environments, with an understanding of how they can support automation and efficiency.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, able to assess solution options and present clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Experience working through the full service delivery lifecycle.
- Comfortable collaborating across disciplines in fast-paced, iterative settings.
