About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, automating, and optimising cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Kubernetes orchestration, EKS, Helm, and service mesh technologies. You will work closely with development, SRE, and security teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing platforms in AWS.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Architect and manage large-scale Kubernetes clusters (EKS) across multiple environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Implement and maintain Helm charts to automate and standardise Kubernetes deployments.
  • Design and optimise container orchestration strategies, including workload scaling, blue-green/canary deployments, and self-healing mechanisms.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
  • Lead the development of GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless deployment and integration of microservices.
  • Implement observability and monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack to ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to establish cloud-native best practices, improving platform reliability and scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in Kubernetes (EKS preferred) with experience managing production-grade clusters.
  • Strong knowledge of Helm for packaging and deploying Kubernetes applications.
  • Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, Consul) for traffic management and security.
  • Expertise in container security, networking, and logging in Kubernetes environments.
  • Proficient in Terraform for provisioning cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with GitHub Actions (or similar CI/CD tools) for automating deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with blue-green, rolling updates, and canary deployments in Kubernetes.
  • Strong AWS experience, particularly with EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC, ALB/ELB, and networking.
  • Knowledge of container security tools (e.g., Aqua Security, Falco, Kyverno).
  • Experience implementing RBAC, IAM, OPA (Open Policy Agent), and AWS security best practices.
  • Expertise in Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), and OpenTelemetry for observability.
  • Experience setting up alerting and monitoring dashboards for large-scale Kubernetes environments.
