We are currently seeking a highly skilled Linux Platform Administrator. The Linux Platform Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the self-hosted ServiceNow platform, ensuring that it is secure, optimised, and running efficiently. This includes tasks such as platform monitoring, capacity management, backups, and system upgrades. The role also requires designing and scheduling uptime in alignment with cost optimisation strategies, alongside the development and configuration of key platform features.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the ServiceNow Self-Hosted Platform which includes monitoring and capacity management.
  • Ensure snapshots, backup and clonebacks are completed as appropriate.
  • Schedule and communicate upgrades of the platform as required.
  • Design and schedule application uptime to meet cost optimisation goals.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Can build solutions with autonomy.
  • Run and create shell scripts, Linux string manipulation.

Requirements:

  • Strong Linux OS experience, including shell scripting, string manipulation, and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with packaging and unpackaging software.
  • Familiarity with SSL, Java Keystores (BCKS) to create secure HTTPS communications.
  • Experience of configuring LDAP/SSO brokers, e.g. Keycloak.
  • Background within a Cloud environment - provision compute - strong knowledge of AWS or Azure.
  • MOD SC Mandatory.
