We are looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting the delivery of secure, scalable digital services within a Central Government environment. This role is well suited to someone who is comfortable working in regulated settings, has strong DevOps fundamentals, and holds active SC clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and secure deployments
- Support cloud infrastructure and environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure
- Work closely with developers, architects, and delivery teams to embed DevOps best practices
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Monitor, maintain, and improve system performance, availability, and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve deployment and environment issues
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and operational standards required for government projects
Requirements
- Active SC clearance (must be current)
- Proven experience working as a DevOps Engineer in complex delivery environments
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
- Experience working on Central Government or highly regulated projects
- Comfortable working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred)
- Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g. ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
- Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools
