Role Summary
We are seeking a senior and commercially astute Strategic Account Lead to take ownership of Amber Labs’ most significant public sector account portfolio, including programmes delivered in partnership with a strategic delivery partner. This is a pivotal, client-facing leadership role responsible for defining and executing the account strategy across a major public sector partnership. You will balance strategic oversight with hands-on engagement — driving long-term growth, ensuring delivery excellence, and deepening relationships at senior levels across client, partner, and internal teams. The role requires the ability to shape consultative, outcome-led engagements, influence client roadmaps, and build cohesive account plans that align delivery performance, commercial growth, and partnership maturity. As a senior member of the Commercial function, you will also play a key role in strengthening Amber Labs’ account governance model, supporting bids and proposals, and contributing to the continued development of our public sector go-to-market approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic account planning: define and execute the account strategy, incorporating revenue targets, relationship plans, delivery governance, and growth opportunities.
- Build trusted senior relationships: act as the senior point of contact across client and partner leadership teams, ensuring Amber Labs is positioned as a dependable, value-adding consultancy.
- Drive consultative growth: work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to shape new opportunities, proposals, and outcome-based engagements aligned to client priorities.
- Support bids and frameworks: provide commercial and relationship insight during bid processes, contributing to win strategies and proposal reviews.
- Oversee delivery performance: maintain visibility of delivery quality, consultant performance, and client satisfaction, ensuring contractual and commercial alignment.
- Facilitate collaboration: bring together client, partner, and internal teams (Delivery, Talent, Operations, Finance) to ensure coordinated account execution and forecasting accuracy.
- Lead account governance: chair account review meetings, manage risks and escalations, and ensure performance data and reporting are consistent and actionable.
- Contribute to commercial strategy: work with the Strategic Commercial Director to refine pricing models, contracting approaches, and account management frameworks.
- Mentor and develop others: support the development of account management capability across the business as Amber Labs scales.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience managing strategic public sector accounts within consulting, digital transformation, or technology delivery.
- Proven success leading complex, multi-stakeholder relationships and joint-delivery models.
- Track record of driving consultative sales and account growth through insight, partnership, and delivery excellence.
- Commercially strong with deep understanding of frameworks, SoWs, pricing models, and bid processes.
- Strategic thinker who can translate client needs into long-term growth plans and actionable governance.
- Credible and confident engaging at CxO and senior civil service levels.
- Collaborative leader comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment.
- Brings structure and rhythm without bureaucracy — balancing delivery focus with commercial vision.
