This role offers the chance to be embedded at the heart of trading operations—providing production engineering expertise while contributing to the strategic modernisation of platform capabilities across algorithmic trading systems.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain and optimise high-performance, real-time trading systems used across global futures exchanges.
  • Implement and continuously enhance monitoring, reliability, and observability across front office platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in deployment, release management, and platform stability.
  • Act as a key escalation point for trading system incidents, contributing to root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
  • Participate in production support and on-call rotations, ensuring uninterrupted market connectivity.
  • Contribute to audits, certification, and regulatory reviews of trading infrastructure (including MiFID II, EMIR, and RTS6).
  • Bring a systems-thinking mindset to problem-solving across exchange connectivity, market data, and compliance tooling.
  • Support enterprise-grade market data infrastructure, including proprietary feed handlers and real-time distribution platforms.
  • Leverage scripting and automation to reduce technical debt and improve incident response speed.

Required Industry Expertise

  • Strong understanding of exchange-traded derivatives, trade lifecycle, and settlement flows.
  • Familiarity with global futures exchanges, trading venues, and liquidity aggregation platforms.
  • 8+ years' hands-on experience in capital markets or commodities trading environments.
  • Proven exposure to real-time market data distribution platforms, including enterprise feedhandlers and consolidated feed solutions.
  • Deep understanding of MiFID II, EMIR, FCA compliance, and algorithmic trading regulations.
  • Solid track record working with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and third-party EMS/OMS vendors.

Key Technical Skills

  • 10+ years in front-office production support or DevOps for trading platforms.
  • Expertise in FIX protocol (8+ years) including onboarding, troubleshooting, and certification.
  • Scripting/programming in Python, PowerShell, SQL, or C# for automation and tooling.
  • Experience with RTDS components (DACS, ADH, ADS) and market data traffic management.
  • Strong debugging skills with multicast, TCP/IP, and messaging queues.
  • Hands-on experience with kdb+, Shakti, or similar time-series analytic platforms (minimum 5+ years).
  • Familiarity with continuous delivery in high-availability, low-latency environments.

What You Bring As a Person

  • Calm under pressure – comfortable making decisions in live trading scenarios.
  • Excellent communicator – able to explain technical detail to traders and stakeholders.
  • Problem solver – takes ownership of production issues and sees them through.
  • Team collaborator – works well across functions including development, compliance, and infrastructure.
  • Self-driven – proactive about system improvements and reducing operational risk.

What's On Offer

  • Opportunity to work directly with front-office trading teams and high-frequency platforms.
  • Access to cutting-edge tooling and a forward-thinking DevOps culture.
  • Dynamic working environment at a leading player in the capital markets space.
  • Be part of a global team shaping the future of trading infrastructure.
